STATEMENT

To utilize the advantages of materials, forms and surfaces is one of the most important goals in my art making.  Clay is a unique material holds memories and yearns to speak for its own.  I am fascinated by the random and unexplained results produced by the interaction of artist, clay, and heat.  I work with a very wide range of clay bodies and surface treatments, and enjoy being ‘chosen’ and challenged. I strive to achieve a true harmony with the material and to bring out its most beautiful and lively aspect.

My central interests have always been the searching for beauty and meanings.  I often ask myself why we are drawn to objects and how they encompass our mind and body, our knowledge and history.  My work is about objects constantly being born and transforming.  It is a visual journal of dialogues, between my self, materials, and the process.  Ultimately and together, I hope my work will establish a place full of meanings, infinity, beauty, and strength.
